Luangwa River Lodge
Luangwa River Lodge is just 10 kilometres north of Mfuwe on the river bordering the South Luangwa National Park and is a mere one hour away from Mfuwe international Airport.
The lodge is small and intimate, and accommodates a maximum of 10 guests, in 5 beautifully appointed chalets. The décor fuses earth tones with raw materials, and use has been made of palm stalks, indigenous timber, and thatch which creates a warm atmosphere.
Luangwa River Lodge’s open plan lounge, dining area and infinity pool all allow for excellent game viewing opportunities, along with delicious dining experiences under an endless canopy of the night sky. Simplicity and individuality is at the heart of the cuisine – with dishes including an array of enticing combinations inspired by fresh local ingredients and international influences.
There is a good selection of activities at the Lodge, not least of which are the game drives and walking safaris where you get the chance to learn more about the magnificent wildlife of the area. River levels permitting, there are also riverboat trips.
In addition, the lodge can arrange visits to the Chipembele Wildlife Education Centre, Tribal Textiles, Kawaza Cultural Village, Mango Tree Crafts, and the Chiutika School Project.
You might also wish to relax in Camp, either at the pool, or with a massage.
